Cari Ely is the Bookeeper for SBA and is the Sponsor of the JV and Varsity Cheer Teams. Mrs. Ely has coached the Varsity Cheerleaders for eight years and has had five NCA Top Teams and three Champion Chant Squads. During that time, the Varsity Cheer squads have also been awarded five Herkie Team Awards and three Spirit Megaphone Awards. 6 squad captains during the eight years were awarded the Individual Leadership Award.

In previous years, Mrs. Ely studied at Ohio Dominican College and Mississippi State University. Mrs. Ely went on to be the proprietor of her own dance studio and participated  with competition dance teams in Mississippi and Alabama. 

Mrs. Ely is the wife of Brian Ely and the mother of three children: Josh Ely, a graduate of Sylva-Bay, is attending Mississippi State University. Chelsea Ely, a graduate of Sylva-Bay, is a student at JCJC, and Jena Ely is a freshman this year at Ole Miss.
