Upcoming ACT dates:
April 12, 2012 (register by March 9, 2012) June 9, 2012 (register by May 4, 2012)Students should fill out their FAFSA and then apply for the following scholarships immediately:
The Hol-Mac Scholarship - This scholarship will only apply to students who have chosen an industry/manufacturing-related field of study. The student should have an average to high GPA, based on their performance in grades 9-12. The student's high school transcript must accompany the scholarship application. completed applications may be hand delivered to Hol-Mac's Human Resource office or mailed to: Kellum Kim, Hol-Mac Corporation, PO Box 349, Bay Springs, MS 39422. The student should be a person of integrity and one who has his/her priorities in life properly organized. The student should have self-discipline and should be truthful, dependable and possess good character. The student must exhibit the traits of a winner: a) He/she has humility and is teachable. b) He/she exerts effort in accordance with ability. c) He/she is well mannered and has respect for authority. Preference will be given to a student who furthers his/her education working toward an engineering/technical degree. Preference will be given to a student who plans to live and work in Mississippi. The student's proficiency in mathematics will be a determining factor.
The Ellis Lamberth Scholarship (JCJC) - Criteria: ACT Score 16 or above, GPA 2.5 or above, Resident of Jasper or Wayne county.
The Robert McFarland Scholarship (JCJC) - Criteria: ACT Score 23 or Above, GPA 2.75 or above, Resident of Jasper County and potential to serve his/her community.
The Bobby L. Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship (JCJC) - Criteria: Preference will be given to applicant having been involved with the Jasper County Youth Court System or having participated in the Bay Springs United Methodist Children's Ministry.
The Magnolia State Bank Honoring Mr. Mike McClellan Scholarship - Criteria: Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in Jasper county and planning to attend JCJC. This student is not required to be a straight A Student and may have an ACT of 16, 17 or 18.
The Seth Harris Childhood Cancer Foundation Memorial Scholarship (any college) - Criteria: Preference will be given to those students with service hours to the SHCCF. No GPA or ACT minimum score required. Applicants must submit a one page essay on their love of the outdoors.
The Jasper County Tuition Guarantee (JCJC)
Don't forget to apply for MTAG (Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant by May 31.
The Joseph D. Fail Memorial Scholarship is granted each fall. An application essay is required.
